Hi im hennie zeeman from robertson western cape . New here . Own a klr ,650 2010 with 27000km on the clock bought it second hand . Only drove 150km and got the doo done just for incase . On start-up stil in workshop the exhaust cam seized an damage the cylinder head , now i have a bike with out a head which i only drove 150km . Im feeling sick the hole day. That is a real bummer.

Cylinder heads are reasonably scarce.

Perhaps enquire from The Motorcycle Graveyard in Knysna. IRC they recently got a KLR in.

Preservere until you get it sorted - the KLR is a great bike

Which workshop? Your own? A doo install shouldn't affect the valves...

No , a private ownd workshop , i know a doo change can not do that , but the technician think that its been ridden with low oil or a blocked oil port maybe . Just glad it happend there and not while im on the road . But ya this is not lekker at all.

I spoke to a guy up there who repair those cylinder heads , seen photos of one he did. Better than new , will give it a try .
