Hi All

My 2006 KLR rear shock needs some attention, leaking oil and not performing at all. I use her every day but needs to get a recon done, from what I understand there is only one place in Cape Town that can do this.

I can not be without my KLR for weeks and need to know if anyone knows about a place or someone in Port Elizabeth that will be able to do this for me.

Cheers

He is in Cape Town, you can courier to him.
Don't know of anybody in PE that can recon your shock for you.

Thanks Bud

Could not get anyone in PE that can do it for me, other option is to get a loaner or old one to put onto my KLR while I ship this one to CPT.

This is my daily transport...no can do without my KLR

Sadly I am in the same position as Anton.. Is there anyone in the GP area that can help with a recon?

Hi All

I have watched some videos on how to DIY the shock recon and it does not look like brain surgery, only problem is getting hold of the correct seals...any ideas?

Hi Keith

Thanks for the info.

What did it set you back and what does the kit include? Clearly never worked on a shock in my life.

Darn cannot really remember cost, i know if it was a tad expensive, i would not have been able to afford it ;) . They do the gas as well. Then it was R100 bucks. Just don't put the spring in till you gassed it. Kit is basically just the seals
