This is the relay/solenoid just under the tank behind the cover.
(3 wires coming in on the 4 pin plug @ the two thick black wires connect to the star scews & 20amp fuse)

Mine suddenly just makes a continuous clicking/buzzing sound when I push the starting button. (starter don’t turn)
I thought my battery was going flat ……… charged it, but the problem persist.

Not sure if the problem is with this solenoid/relay switch or maybe somewhere else or too little power problem towards the solenoid/relay?
Don’t wanna buy a new one only to find the problem persists.

My questions are;
• What will the price be?
• Can one bypass this switch on a permanent basis?
(and just ensure the side-stand and clutch are in before starting)

Yes you can bypass the side stand switch. All of ours here are almost bypassed. Sure someone will advise how to do it or call Doc. He will explain to you how to do it over the phone.

BUT....

Before anyone will give you advise... you gonna have to introduce yourself. We all like to know who we are talking to.

Welcome Frank! Are you sure you want to bypass the switch, at our age we tend to forget to lift the stand hahs
If I had more money, I wouldn't have a KLR... I would have 2

Frank

Welcome here, read through the old technical threads. There are some valuable info, mainly because of all the mistakes we have made

I am not a mechanic so don't take my advice too serious. I dont think your problem is the side stand switch. It rather sounds like the battery is the cause of your problems. A battery that is shot can do strange things.

Hope you get your bike going again.

Put a voltmeter on the battery, what is the voltage?
Then try start the bike, what is the reading while trying to start?
