I bought my KLR with the oil cap stripped, it's not really a problem 'cause it still screws in tight. Only with long distance travelling at higher revs it tends to "breathe" oil from the cap. Do I have to go to kawasaki for a new one or is there an aftermarket fix/solution? If so, who and where. Thanx in advance for the replies

Hi Rubi. Are you sure ir's the cap that stripped and not the oil cover?
If I had more money, I wouldn't have a KLR... I would have 2

There is a fancy anodized aluminium cap available from the US, forgotten the name of the supplier now, but you then have to carry a small spanner so you can open it on trips.
Google tamper proof oil cap.
The original plastic one is to my knowledge from Kawa, or from a broken bike second hand.
