Greetings,
This is my third account I open as the other two accounts opened, each time I log in I get a warning sign, not me or not the password or not the email address. Hopefully this new account works

So mates..a few questions.

Where can I buy crash bars and pannier racks? Any suggestions. Found some online but of course we want to check for the cheapest and best quality. Normal human trait!

Now for advice of a different kind.

I have tried adjusting the headlights and dims. It seems as though there is a hitch as the screw adjustment left or right and up and down.simply do sweet zero.

I have dims that shine in the milkyway and brights that are somewhere too high.
Are the adjustment screws jammed and how the blazes might I be able to remove the entire light housing to get to the light screw adjustment so that I can fix what is F___D

And then at the same time I want to install the ORANGE reflector for daylight riding..or does this fix on the outside.?

Thanks
Have a good one.

Welcome Ian

For pannier racks there is a guy, Errol, in PE that makes nice ones. You can check out his work here:

I will let the members that know more than me answer about crash bars and the headlight screw.

The orange reflector is generally made of perspex and attached to the outside with velcro so that you can remove it at night.

Morning! I have adjusted my 08's headlights in the past and it worked just fine. Did you take off the whole front fairing and adjusted it at the screws that go into the shiny reflector bits? I'm assuming you have a Gen2?

Also, orange headlight cover you should be able to get at Flying brick or Trac mac- Where are you based? They just stick on the outside with 3M "velcro". Cost me about R390.

I bought SW Motech crash bars from Jorg- He gets the from an importer in East London. I paid about R2700 I think? Pannier racks you get form Errol who makes them himself I think it's about R1100 including shipping, I might be wrong- you'll find him on the KLR Clan facebook page. Or someone will have his number.

Hope it helps!

Jakes :)

You can get SW Motec crash bars from Dustriders in Stilbaai. Chris and Amanda offer great service. I paid around R2600 for a set delivered to me in JHB. I even bought offroad foot pegs and a bash-plate from them as well

In actual fact I think Chris is a forum member here if I am not mistaken

I agree with others that you get pannier racks from Errol

Dont totally understand your problem with headlight adjuster. Remove the screen on the left theres a little adjuster that you use a phillips screw driver and turn to adjust up or down.

Welcome

Make sure the globe is fitted flush against the back of the reflector. It is very easy to install it off by a few millimetres and this can have an influence on the height of the beam.

Roes.
Thanks for reply...yep. It is that very adjuster with phillips screw that does not adjust the height or up and down,

Tried that..there are two adjusters..one for up and down one for left ad right...neither do anything ...your take.

Thx
